New Jersey AIDS Walk
05/01/2011 - By Ridgewood, NJ

On Sunday, May 1, 2011 Buddies of NJ and 4 other premier AIDS Service Organizations throughout New Jersey made HIV/AIDS history in the Garden State with the 1st Annual New Jersey AIDS Walk. 1-Day, 1-Cause, 5-Locations.

These 5 & 10K walks are filled with food, fun, exercise, and remembrance of those we walk for.

The NJ AIDS Walk (NJAW) raises funds for collaborating AIDS Service Organizations that provide essential education, services, and research to prevent the spread of AIDS and to attend to needs of all who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. NJAW, works to solutions in the eradication of HIV/AIDS and the devastation it brings to many lives. Programs run by the collaborating organizations directly impact economically underserved populations. The services provided by these organizations shall be mainly for those who have no other option due to their economic ability; it is funding of "last resorts".

NJAW, Inc. spans every region of NJ and serves major cities throughout the state: Hackensack, Paterson, Morristown, Newark, Jersey City, Camden, Trenton, New Brunswick, Asbury Park, and Atlantic City. Our non-profit organizations operate food banks; run education related programs in the areas of health and HIV, they provide housing facilities for those with disabilities, they provide counseling and education which enables youth to stay well, gives dignity to disabled adults, helps addicts to recover, and empowers people in general to rebuild productive lives for themselves and surrounding communities. Funds will be used to build stronger healthier communities that will become self reliant and sustaining.
